Surf 9 has announced a recall of a series of inflatable paddleboards, citing the risk of possible drowning.
The recall was announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which stated that the glue on certain Surf 9 paddleboards “can separate at the seams and the paddle boards can deflate unexpectedly, posing a drowning hazard.”
The recall affects the following model types: Body Glove Tandem Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board, ULI Inventor Inflatable Paddle Board, ULI Zettian Inflatable Supyak, and ULI Lila Inflatable Supyak. In total, about 13,000 paddleboards sold between July 2021 and July 2022 were recalled. Surf 9 paddleboards were sold at Costco stores nationwide and online at www.costco.com.
Costco has received three reports of the paddleboards unexpectedly deflating.
Consumers who own a recalled Surf 9 paddleboard are instructed to stop using the board immediately.
