  1. Starting off the list is the $289 million jury verdict in favor of the plaintiff, DeWayne “Lee” Johnson.   2. In mid-2018, plaintiffs received a $4.69 billion verdict against Johnson & Johnson. The plaintiffs were able to prove that talcum powder products containing asbestos, ultimately led to unfortunate diagnoses of cancer among the plaintiffs.This verdict includes $550 million in compensatory damages and $4.14 billion in punitive damages.

    Plaintiffs are currently filing lawsuits against multiple manufacturers of talc-containing products over their known cancer-causing side effects. Some of the cases are concerning talc induced mesothelioma or asbestosis while others are claiming that talcum powder use caused ovarian cancer.
