According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the trunks do not contain a lid support feature or ventilation holes, which can pose entrapment and suffocation hazards. The June 27, 2024 recall involves about 1,000 storage trunks. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the storage trunks immediately.
The recalled trunks come in two sizes. The large chest is about 32” x 16” x 21”. The small chest has dimensions of about 27” x 13” x 16”. The chests are made of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and are covered in a multi-color tie dye patterned faux fur fabric.
The storage containers were sold at Home stores nationwide and online at athome.com from September 2023 through February 2024 for between $50 and $60.
