The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled TOMY’s Boon Flair and Flair Elite highchairs due to the risks of falling. The recall was announced on Aug. 31, 2023.
According to the CPSC, the bolts securing the highchair’s base to the seat can loosen and detach the seat. Children sitting in these highchairs could fall and become injured.
TOMY received 34 reports of their highchairs separating at the base; eleven of which resulted in injuries.
Approximately 83,000 highchairs are included in this recall, with an additional 2,850 in Canada.
What models are included in the TOMY highchair recall?
The recall includes two models of TOMY’s highchairs, the Boon Flair highchairs and the Boon Flair Elite highchairs. Boon Flair highchairs manufactured before September 2016 are included in the recall.
The recall also includes all Boon Flair Elite highchairs.
