Vitamix Ascent and Venturist Blender Containers and Blade Bases Recall Lawsuit

Vitamix has expanded a recall on its 8-ounce and 20-ounce Vitamix blender containers and blade bases in August 2018. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled Vitamix products.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the containers can separate from the blade base, exposing the blades and posing a laceration hazard to consumers. In addition to the 105,000 units previously recalled, the June 20, 2024, recall includes an additional 569,000 containers and bases.

The clear containers and black blade bases are included in certain Vitamix blenders, such as the Venturist V1200, and the Ascent A2300, A2500, A3300, and A3500. The Vitamix logo is printed on the blending container.

The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the recalled Vitamix blenders immediately. There have been 27 reports of lacerations caused by consumers’ hands coming in contact with exposed blades.

The Vitamix blenders were sold at Costco, Best Buy, Crate & Barrel, Macy’s, Williams Sonoma, Walmart, and specialty and independent stores nationwide and online at Vitamix.com, Amazon.com, and QVC.com from April 2017 through May 2024 for between $30 and $990 for the blender and blending containers when sold with other products.
