The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled another of Vornado’s products, the handheld garment steamer. The CPSC posted the recall on Feb. 8, 2024.
According to the CPSC, Vornado’s handheld garment steamers were recalled due to serious risks of burn injuries. The agency stated that the steamers can expel hot water from the nozzle while heating or during use, posing a risk of burn injuries to bystanders.
Vornado has received 122 incident reports of hot water spraying from the nozzles, as well as 23 reports of burn injuries.
Over two million Vornado handheld garment steamers are included in the recall.
The recall affects the following handheld garment steamer brands with their corresponding model numbers:
Steamfast
- SF-425
- SF-435
- SF-440
- SF-445
- SF-447
Vornado
- VS-410
Sharper Image
- SI-428
The steamers’ model numbers are on a label at the bottom of the product.
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled steamers immediately.
