What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the retaining pin in the e-bike’s disc brake calipers can loosen and dislodge from the caliper assembly, resulting in brake failure, posing crash and injury hazards to the rider. The CPSC has received at least 21 reports of brake failures, including at least one incident resulting in an injury. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the e-bikes immediately.
How Common Are Bicycle Injury Accidents?
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2021, an estimated 41,615 bicyclists were injured, including 966 that resulted in fatalities.
Is My Electric Bike Included in This Recall?
The February 20, 2025, recall includes about 1,400 model year 2024 Z Miami SE (900-00288, 900-00309, and 900-00313) and Z Adventure Core (900-00308) electric bicycles. The Z Miami SE bikes were sold in three colors: Bandit Black with a black seat, Palladium Gray with a camel seat, and Astro Orange with a black seat. The Z Adventure Core e-bikes are available in one color: Sandstorm, featuring a black and brown frame. The model name and color are on the purchase receipt.
The e-bikes were sold at Super73, other bicycle stores nationwide, and online at Super73.com from April 2024 through September 2024 for between $2,300 and $2,500.

Trek Electra E-Bikes Recall Lawsuit – The bike’s rear fender can come loose and contact the rear wheel, which could cause the e-bike to stop unexpectedly, potentially causing the rider to lose control.
Brompton Electric Bicycle Recall Lawsuit – About 2,200 bikes were recalled due to reports of faulty mudguards causing the bikes to crash.
Lectric E-bike Disc Brake Caliper Recall Lawsuit – About 45,000 Lectric E-Bike Disc Brake Calipers were recalled due to crash/injury hazards caused by defective brakes.
