On June 22, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Zooby video baby monitors due to the risk of overheating and fire hazards.
Why were the Zooby baby monitors recalled?
According to the CPSC, the baby monitor’s battery could malfunction and start a fire. Zooby and the CPSC received three reports of their baby monitors catching fire.
Approximately 17,100 units were recalled.
What models are included in the Zooby baby monitor recall?
The recall includes Zooby baby monitors for cars and came in a plush animal toy. Recalled Zooby models have a battery model number HJ554050 Batch 2136. The model number is found inside the battery on the door.
Recalled Zooby baby monitors came in the following animal plush toys:
- Giraffe
- Dog
- Fox
- Rabbit
- Panda
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately remove the batteries from the plush camera.
